Friday nights at ‘The Polo’ with the Canberra Musicians Club

The WEC in partnership with the Canberra Musicians Club has proud to be part of a renaissance of live music in Canberra in recent years and part of a series of venues on the near-north side showcasing wellspring of musical talent in the ACT, as well as interstate and overseas bands and performers. Every Friday night (and often Thursdays and Saturdays), there’s something on. For details of upcoming shows, check the Club’s or the CMC’s  Facebook pages for details. For other events, see What’s On.

Polish Continental Deli & Butcher

Every second week on Saturday (11:00-13:30, public service pay week), the Polish Club hosts the Krakus continental delicatessen and butcher, bringing customers the best range of Polish smoked meats, salami, sausages and other assorted goodies: classic Polish breads, cheeses, cakes, confectionary and fine imported preserves and pickled fruit and veggies (mushrooms, jams, soups, cabbage). Deli days at the Club are a Canberra institution dating back to the 80s. The Promyk stall sells a selection of Polish-language books, current affairs and human interest magazines and other publications. You can even treat yourself to creature comfort of a pair of traditional Polish slippers on sale. There’s cosmetics too.
