The Polish White Eagle Club is one of Canberra’s favourite live music venues and is fully licensed by the Australian Performing Rights Association. The venue has helped sustain the ACT’s budding live music scene over many years, as well as hosting interstate and overseas performers. Those who’ve performed at ‘The Polo’ include Darren Hanlen, Kristin Hersh, Reg Mombasa, Michael Angelo & the Black Sea Gentlemen, to name just a few. For scheduled events, see our What’s On page.

Pierogi & Pint and Jumptown Swing … every Wednesday night!

One of the inner north’s hidden gems, Pierogi & Pint specials nights are for Canberrans who want dumpling bliss, washed down by rotating selection of fine ales, pilsners, dark beers and other drops from Poland and the Baltic region. Wednesdays are also Jumptown Swing nights, offering lessons for beginners and intermediates. The Club also hosts events as part of the annual August Canberrang Festival. Polish Continental Deli & Butcher

Every second week on Saturday (11:00-13:30, usually public service pay week), the Polish Club hosts the Krakus Lawson Bros & Promyk continental delicatessen and butcher, bringing customers the best range of Polish smoked meats, salami, sausages and other assorted goodies: classic Polish breads, cheeses, cakes, confectionary and fine imported preserves and pickled fruit and veggies (mushrooms, jams, soups, cabbage). Deli days at the Club are a Canberra institution dating back to the 80s. The Promyk stall sells a selection of Polish-language books, current affairs and human interest magazines and other publications.
